What is Adobe?

Adobe is a building material made from earth and organic materials, adobe is Spanish for mudbrick. In some English-speaking regions of Spanish heritage, such as the Southwestern United States, the term is used to refer to any kind of earthen construction, or various architectural styles like Pueblo Revival or Territorial Revival. Most adobe buildings are similar in appearance to cob and rammed earth buildings. Adobe is among the earliest building materials, and is used throughout the world. Adobe architecture has been dated to before 5,100 B.C

Are you near any beaches?

Yes, we are walking distance from the private beach Cardiff Hall Beach Club. All guests get free access to this beach. We are driving distance from Flavours Beach, Puerto Seco Beach, Dunn's River Falls, Dolphin Cove and many more popular attractions. 

Is there parking?

Yes, we offer outdoor parking to one car per cottage on the property.

What is the nearest airport to you?

The nearest international airport to us is the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St. James. It is approximately 1hr drive from the property.

What time is check-in and check out?

• Check-in starts at 3 pm daily.
• Check out is 12 pm daily.
  

Is there an age restriction?

No, there is no strict age restriction.

While our cottages are not specifically designed for children, we can accommodate guests under 13 years old on a case-by-case basis. Please note that our outdoor pool has no safety features and no lifeguard on duty, so children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. Children’s swimming abilities will also be taken into consideration to ensure their safety.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets aren't allowed. However, there are dogs on the property and they are kept to the rear of the property. Do not feed any of the dogs on the property!

What are the pool hours?

The swimming pool is open between 6 am to 10 pm daily. All guests swim at their own risk. No life guard is on duty.

Do you allow parties/events?

Parties/events are not allowed at this time.

Do you allow photoshoots/videography for commercial purposes?

No photos/videos can be taken for commercial purposes for monetary gain. If you are interested in this, please contact us at: info@casadebarrojamaica.com to discuss this further.

Is food and drink provided?

No, we do not provide food and drink.

How do I check in?

We offer self check-in for all guests, so you can arrive at your convenience without waiting for a host.

When will I receive the check-in code?

Your access code will be provided through the booking platform 24–48 hours before your arrival.

How do I get detailed check-in instructions?

Detailed check-in instructions are shared via the booking platform along with your access code to guide you through the process.

Is there a house manual?

Yes! A house manual containing property rules, amenities, and local recommendations will be shared via a Google Drive link before your stay.

What are the House Rules?

• No smoking in cottages.
  
• No unregistered guests or visitors allowed.
• Please close all windows and doors when using the air conditioning.
• Turn off all lights, fans, electronics and air conditioning when leaving the cottage.
• No hazardous materials or weapons allowed on the property.
• No illegal substance of any kind is allowed on the property. This is grounds for immediate eviction from the property. You agree that any use of any drug on the property or using the property for any unlawful purpose or violation of any law on or about the property will immediately terminate your occupancy and be grounds for immediate eviction from the property. You will be liable for any and all costs incurred by the host and co-host and no refund will be provided for any remaining days booked.
• No candles inside the cottage.
• The back of the property is fenced off and is off limits to all guests. Marked be beware of dogs signs.
• The property is home to many varieties of plants we ask that you do not touch them unnecessarily.
• Keep noise to a minimum after 10 pm.
• No eating or drinking in bedrooms. Please enjoy your meal in the dining room, in the kitchen or the outdoor patio.
• Wash the dishes, and throw out the garbage before checkout.
• Please be respectful of sheets and towels. Makeup, face creams, tanning products etc will stain sheets and towels. Feel free to bring your own sheets and towels if you wish as stained sheets and towels will incur an additional fee.
• Report any damages and/or breakages as soon as possible.
• Lost/damaged gate opener fobs will acquire an additional charge of $50 USD.
• If any additional cleaning is required, apart from the standard, a fee of $50 USD will be added to your bill.

We are located at Cardiff Hall, Runaway Bay, St. Ann, Jamaica. Exact directions will be shared after booking confirmed.
